Donald Joseph Qualls, better popularly known as DJ Qualls is an American actor, producer and fashion model. After becoming famous through his role in Road Trip and The New Guy Hustle & Flow He was featured in over 20 feature films, including The Core. Apart from his appearances on Road Trip Qualls has played in 22 different TV shows like Breaking Bad Supernatural Srubs Lost Law & Order etc. Qualls had been diagnosed as having Hodgkin's Lymphoma at age 14, and has battled this disease since. Following two years of treatment the cancer was cured. But the treatment at this early stage caused a significant impact on his body, and hindered his growth. When he began acting, financially secure, it was the ultimate goal since the experience of poverty was a constant throughout his childhood. In the wake of living in poverty for so long I have to be able to enjoy this financial assurance. If not, the world appears out of my control. He looks back on his early years, and is driven by an urge to do something against the bullying. DJ states "Cruelty breaks the heart of my heart." Both in real life and on the screen, DJ could love to play a father. But he says "Directors do not cast me in these roles." He'd like to have a child so that he could devote less time on his career to more attention to the baby.
